Custom design
Since each instrument is individually handcrafted it can be tailored to your specific requirements. Options are infinite but typical examples include a wider or narrower neck, customised neck shaping, alternative purfling or rosette colour scheme or seven strings.
Tuning machines

A variety of tuning machines are available. Hauser style professional Schaller machineheads in either gold or silver are used as standard. Rubner tuners are also used and have hardwood buttons and brass plates. Luxury hand-crafted Northumbria machine heads are available in a variety of designs for the ultimate choice in tuners.

Choice of back and side wood

The wood used for the back and sides is both an aesthetic choice and a tonal one since it provides colouration to the tone. Usually Rosewood is used for the Traditional and Evolution models and Cypress is used for the Flamenco model. If a different look or slightly different tone is required then alternative woods can be used including birds-eye or flamed maple.
A diverse number of wood types can be used for the back and sides. Please e-mail for more details
Finish
The standard finish is French polish for the classical models and oil for the Flamenco model, however any instrument can be finished according to your preference. French polish is a time-consuming process where thin layers of shellac are built up gradually, allowed to harden and polished to a high sheen. This is the traditional method for finishing guitars since it provides protection but does not have a detrimental effect to the guitar tone. The Flamenco is usually given an oil finish, which is again applied by hand – this offers less protection to the instrument but gives a woody, more organic feel and look.
